My talented, beautiful, thoughtful, caring, devoted, stylish, staunch, committed, and ever-loving sister, Pamela Kogen, is one of over 100 artists working at the landmark Industrial Center Building (ICB), located in the old warship hangar on the Sausalito, California waterfront. It was built in 1942 as part of a large shipyard complex during WWII. The creative energy in this place is out of this world. It sizzles and crackles from the moment you set foot in the building.
"ICB Winter Open Studios" was last weekend. In advance, Pamela spiffed up her space and decided this year, for a change, she wouldn't worry about how many people would come into her studio, whether she had enough work out, or whether they would like it enough to bring it into their homes. Lesson learned: Worrying isn't worth it. Many people came, and she was more than pleased with the response.
"Many thanks to everyone who came to our ICB Open Studios," Pamela wrote afterward on her Instagram page. "Thank you for the visits from friends, old and new collectors of my work, and fellow artists. Our conversations and your interest mean so much to me and complete the circle of making art."
